AI Governance & Safety Lead

£90k–£110k Basic (depending on Experience)
Our client is looking to appoint an experienced AI Governance & Safety Lead to help shape the safe, practical, and commercially effective use of AI across the business. This is a high-impact role for someone who can combine hands-on technical understanding with strong governance, compliance, and risk awareness.
What you’ll do
Lead the development of AI governance frameworks, policies, and standards
Design and oversee AI safety controls, guardrails, and testing processes
Support the safe deployment of AI and LLM-based solutions in production
Work closely with engineering, product, compliance, and leadership teams
Drive responsible AI adoption across the business
Support technical governance, design review, and decision traceability
What we’re looking for
Strong experience in AI governance, AI safety, or responsible AI
Hands-on understanding of AI / LLM applications in production environments
Experience within regulated or compliance-led environments
Strong understanding of risk, privacy, and governance controls
Clear communicator, able to work across technical and non-technical teams
Credible, practical, and commercially minded
Strong package, flexible working, high-impact role
